Affirmations & Havening
Affirmational Havening is a powerful new psycho-sensory technique that quickly & effectively produces positive states of calm, confidence and resiliency using affirmations.
In my work with clients after we have removed distressful memories and emotions it’s then a good time to plant and build upon more positive ones. For this I then apply Affirmational Havening which can also be combined with hypnotherapy.
If you think about it you are using affirmations all the time through your positive or negative inner self talk. I would like you to become more aware of this inner self dialogue. Notice how positive or negative it is in the context of your voice tonality, statements you make to yourself, and even about the people and the world around you.
For example do you tell yourself positive things like ‘ I can do it,’ ‘Go for it’’ I am a smart person,’ ‘I am attractive ,’ I am lucky’ ,‘ I am powerful’, in a encouraging voice tonality with visions of yourself succeeding?
Alternatively do you tell yourself negative things like ‘I can’t do,’’ Don’t bother you will fail,’ ‘I am stupid,’ ‘I am unattractive,’ ‘Knowing my luck it won’t work out’ in a critical downbeat voice tonality with images of things going wrong?
We can all have a mixture of both positive and negative affirmations going on inside our minds. However focusing and reinforcing the positives ones daily can have a dramatic effect on your life in regards to how you think, feel and behave and the results you get in life.
You can significantly determine your experience of life from your inner self talk, affirmations and imagination. This then affects your behaviours and acts as a self fulfilling prophecy. In other words what you say to yourself and imagine will have a major impact on the quality of your life you get and the person you become. This is exciting news because you can take control of your inner voice and what you visualise. As the famous play right George Bernard Shaw once said ‘Life isn’t about finding yourself it’s about creating yourself’. And it starts from the inside out.
When doing the Affirmational Havening technique a Certified Havening Techniques Practitioner will ask you first to remember a time when you experienced and felt the positive emotion that you wish to self induce again before apply Havening. For example I can remember sitting in a Jacuzzi beside a swimming pool, in warm sunshine, gazing at mountains and a clear blue sky. I have often used that memory for affirming calm, relaxing feelings with this technique.
If I wanted to feel confident I might remember doing a test, or exam that I had felt very confident about..
If I wanted to feel happy I might choose a time when I received some great news, or when I was laughing uncontrollably, and so on.

Happy, Inspired, Liberated, Free, Optimistic, Proud, Joyful, Calm, Relaxed, Motivated, Loved, Rich, Grateful, Clever, Intelligent, Successful, Brave, Strong, Resourceful, Capable, worthy and the list goes on….
